Unexplanatory

They say there are three seasons now.
I differ. I say there is only one, greed.

But we have remained the same.
With ours and with mine
With a mind selfishly claiming 'divine'.

We have blamed and awaited a full moon.
Have feared the scorching Sun,
Back-stabbed the winter with a prayer of spring.

Mocking this obstinacy, it has rained in winters,
Clouds have shaded some summer noons,
Autumn leaves have never denied the gravity.

The rainbow we see bent with stripes across the horizon,
Was straight until you & I realized that the earth is round.

So picturesque! If I say this is very beautiful, would it mar the beauty of the verse?

Unlike poems in many poetry blogs I've come across recently, this one I found was TRUE poetry, and not wannabe-lost-poet-ism in the garb of rhyme, or not-rhyme for that matter.

I loved it, especially the last lines. :D This one is the best poem I've read in the blogosphere in recent times.
Keep writing.

[PS. Is it okay if I blogroll you?]

This is hard-hitting, really one on the solar plexus, Soumya. And you do it with a quill so sharp it pierces, and yet does not bleed.

For it is this we recognize within ourselves that we do not acknowledge that you have brought out so honestly and deliberately!

The topsy turviness of life, its aspirations, and its utter disharmony, for having lost the basic values of the soul... when the seasons all merge into the season of desire and greed, there can be no recompense for all that is lost!

And that is because of man and man alone... the intelligence, and thereby the avarice that crept in and coloured His very existence!

Amazing poem, Soumya.. simply amazing!
