Of Another Season...

On a day like today
when an abrupt monsoon meets
A delighted Sun,
I think of you,
like the dew drops on the petals -
the freshness, eternal.

On a day like today
When my Neruda can sip coffee
with your Joyce,
you come to me as if
memories were more real than now.
They always were, are.

On a day like today,
When the translucent streets of my home
gets wet and hears a tram go by,
your thoughts occur.
I feel you
beyond those concretes and raindrops kamikaze.

On a day like today,
When my words seek no grammar and
chases no metaphor,
I think of poetry and I think
of you.
With or without, I wrote for.

On a day like today,
When I am diseased and all burnt,
I want you to forget me as a season.

We will meet again in summers,
in our little ways, before Sunrise.

*Sigh*

As someone as already, said, and stolen the words right from beneath the fingers on the keyboard, :), this is a moving piece of poetry...

No metaphors?

But then they come to you, unbidden, mesmerized by that quill you weild :) They have to, for they know a poet's soul, and in the expression, they must sate themselves.

Kamikaze raindrops. *Sigh* Bliss!

Thanks as always. You fascinate. You fill up empty spaces with your verse :)

Take a bow, my young Philo' :) This is superlative!
What is this Soumya...I am really moved by this one. There is a certain simplicity and peacefulness to this write...somehow, this one was written, more than any other poem I know, to express a feeling. I think most poets try to (at least subonsciosuly) impress. Even that subconscious effort is not here. This is simply...excellent!! Kudos indeed, this is a fantastic, fantastic, excellent write !! (Adjectives can only do so much, I am sorry :)

The 'suicide' of raindrops is not in vain though
with the sunlight they form a lovely rainbow.
When differences unite to raise our eyebrow
Is a miracle far away when happiness blends with sorrow.

I am still getting in terms with your verses. It is brilliant and steals oyur heart with itssimplicity.
A lyrical piece of writing...i like the references and imageries...and the whole flow of your writing

Wow!

Samadrita, thanks for being so kind. I guess, that one thing I can't guarantee is my regularity. They happen all too abruptly. I will surely try. Thanks again.

Aayushi, you are always present. Thanks a lot for all of them.

Tamarind, thanks a lot. :)

Usha ma'am, well kamikaze, who else but you will pick it up. Learned that word from you actually. Thanks for tagging it to FB n Twitter and sharing. You have always been much more than an inspiration. Just thank you for being there.

Venkat sir, though we have discussed, but still, (Most poets try to impress) the unique perspective you bring out each time be it any kind of observation, makes it so special. Thank you!

Gopal, well that @#$% language gives me immense joy sire :D. You are encouragement personified. Next time we meet, treat is from my side. God bless

Shal di, thanks for visiting.

Jeya, :) Thank you.

Karan, what a nice surprise. You are such a lovely soul. Thank you for coming here and commenting. I am really happy.

Govind ji, your small poetic perspectives are always on line. Very enjoyable they are. Thanks and keep sharing.

Writuparna, thanks for those lovely words. So good to see you visiting again. Thanks a lot.

God bless you all. This has been really special.
