Peace..

Write me a note Colorado,
Tell me how many rocks did you
dance with ?

Write me a note Berlin
And tell me how was it to feel
the wall falling down ?

Can u tell me Marx
if it was possible for you
to make this world more liberal.

I trembled into the
soaking rain
I trembled into the
searing heat.
And didn't you notice me
Crumbling into dust?

I rise,
I fall.
I break down
to break in again
Into you,
Onto time...

I live.

then why can't we ?

Protestants and catholics,
siyas and sunnis
dictators and people
--
Why can't we be one !

If this is an insane wish
and a far off dream
Then I want your hand
to hold me tight.
I want your support
To be louder...
I want your sanity to
be wild and United.

Take an oath
To live with us
To bury the guns
and the bombs and the missiles.
But not the hammers...

We will need them to
refuel our hopes
and to shake our hands
across the borders
around the seas and
over the hills...

Take your axe friend
and let us make the first blow
to the invisible wall of Berlin
around each one of us.

So that a revolution comes
Without a bullet
And a dream fulfills itself
So that Lennon sleeps
In peace,
And we wake up
With it.

[Peace be with us,Amen]

And still it lives, for it is Peace! The one that Lenon Imagined. The one that each of us, deep inside, the Wall, longs for, the human in each of us ie! Awesome ending too, Soumya! Kudos! I know why you have written this one too, after Immortals...and that in itself is the reason why you shall always be for me, a poet who writes with his heart, and yet, does not ever give up on his mind too!
Brilliant ending..simply brilliant!!!
Hopefully this shall happen:

a revolution comes
Without a bullet
And a dream fulfills itself
So that Lennon sleeps
In peace,
And we wake up
With it.

Peace be with all of us. Amen to that too!

With opening lines as this, I just knew this was going to be something magnanimous...and hell yes, it was !!!

I have never read a verse about peace more beautiful and sedimented !

You never cease to amaze me !!

The best part of you is the dexterity with which you write, and not compromise on the quality jus for writing on a different subject-You are one of a kind, the rarest kinds-to have as much an sensitive heart as a sensible head over your shoulders-As for the poem-Il say..Take a bow:)

You travel - Through unknown stations, passing empty paddy fields. over quiet rivers that rest beneath you. You bring a lot of earth along, And smell of mud, fish scales and trains.  You whisper and scream, Put your nails in me, occasionally call it love. Other nights, we make peace. Strangely at dawn, When the Sun rises and you see me sleeping,  I hear your whisper,  you travel ...   ... Deep inside me.

Wish I could be a cloud one day I will love to be grey if its you To whom, through whom I traverse. Transparency is optimum; For I know you are unattainable like the sand escaping from the fist like the meaning assumed from the gist. look, oh yes, I can rhyme too. If you wish I can artify our world. Inspiration never needs a permit. You had asked, Why do I vomit blood. Interruptions in dreamy un-realism doesn't suit me. I know. So I write. So that I can breathe you in and breathe dreams out. Live long, you had wished. (Wished), did you? honestly? I will let it pass like just another Failed attempt to face reality Finds itself en-route to contamination. Oh! then what is pure? you may ask. Purity is not you, not me, but us. Purity is the way verses traverse. I will vomit to death one day. Do not pray for me. Pray for my poems who are quiet. Let them borrow my breaths. Let the poetry for us live. (And the footnotes conclude:) You - a miser in love Me - a happy lender. SoUmy@

Of Another Season...

On a day like today when an abrupt monsoon meets A delighted Sun, I think of you, like the dew drops on the petals - the freshness, eternal. On a day like today When my Neruda can sip coffee with your Joyce, you come to me as if memories were more real than now. They always were, are. On a day like today, When the translucent streets of my home gets wet and hears a tram go by, your thoughts occur. I feel you beyond those concretes and raindrops kamikaze. On a day like today, When my words seek no grammar and chases no metaphor, I think of poetry and I think of you. With or without, I wrote for. On a day like today, When I am diseased and all burnt, I want you to forget me as a season. We will meet again in summers, in our little ways, before Sunrise. SoUmY@
